Art Rageous Pottery Wheel Experience
Have you ever wanted to try throwing pottery on a wheel? Well, here is your chance. Magic happens when you create something out of nothing with your own hands. No piece is the same, ever! Perfection is not possible. We call it “Perfectly Imperfect”! However, the possibilities are endless. Each piece is unique and has a personality all its own. Experience peacefulness, relaxation, and focus. Best of all, it is so much fun.
ADULT WHEEL THROWING LESSONS
4 Week Lessons
Our 4 Week Wheel Throwing Sessions are for all experience levels, whether you are brand new to this art form or have been throwing for years. Reservations and deposit are mandatory. Classes are once a week. Included in your fee is 12.5 pounds of clay; if at any time you need more clay you may purchase more from us. Cost includes unlimited studio time to practice throwing on the wheel.

- ALL STUDIO POLICIES WILL BE COVERED AT YOUR SESSION.
- YOU WILL LEARN THE PROPER PROCEDURE FOR EACH STEP OF THE WHEEL THROWING PROCESS, CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF YOUR TOOLS, AND PROPER HANDLING OF TRIM AND WASTE.
- YOU WILL NEED A TOWEL. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN TOWEL WITH YOU!
- SADLY, WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH SPACE IN THE STUDIO TO STORE YOUR UNUSED CLAY, YOU WILL NEED TO BRING IT HOME IN THE BAG WE SUPPLY EACH WEEK AND RETURN WITH IT FOR THE FOLLOWING WEEKS' CLASS. YOUR THROWN PIECES WILL BE LEFT AT THE STUDIO TO DRY.
- PLEASE WEAR SOMETHING YOU DO NOT MIND GETTING DIRTY. BRING AN APRON IF YOU CHOOSE.
- FINISHING AND PICKING UP POTTERY - YOU WILL BE INFORMED VIA TEXT OR PHONE CALL WHEN YOUR PIECES ARE BISQUE FIRED AND READY FOR GLAZING. YOU MUST COME BACK IN ON YOUR OWN TIME (WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF CONTACT) TO GLAZE YOUR PIECES. WE WILL FIRE A SECOND TIME. YOUR COMPLETED PIECES MUST BE PICKED UP WITHIN 30 DAYS OF LAST FIRING OR WILL BE DISCARDED.
Best Practices:
- Short nails are more conducive to a successful experience in clay, including throwing on the wheel
- Practice makes perfect – in between classes we encourage participants to practice on the wheel. Practice time is included in the class fee.
